Sustainability

SriLankaX exists to connect you with Sri Lanka's independent hosts — and to do it in a way that's good for the island, its wildlife and the communities who make a trip here unforgettable.

Money that stays local

Our model is simple: you pay a small reservation fee online, and settle the balance directly with your host at the destination. Partners keep the full price of their stay, experience or service — so more of what you spend stays in the local economy, with the people who earned it.

Respect for wildlife and heritage

We encourage responsible safaris that keep a respectful distance from animals, and we ask guests to treat temples and sacred sites with care — covering shoulders and knees, removing footwear where asked, and following local guidance.

Community at the centre

Home-cooked meals, family-run guesthouses, village walks and local guides aren't just more rewarding — they spread the benefits of tourism more widely. Wherever we can, we highlight hosts who put something back into their communities.

A lighter footprint

We favour slower travel — the train through the hills, a shared driver, time spent in one place rather than rushing between many. It's better for the island, and it's usually the better trip too.
